Wisdom and Righteousness

 In Daily Devotional

1 Corinthians 1:30

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.”

2 Corinthians 5:21

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

What a marvelous plan the Father had to reconcile the world back to Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit! Everything we need for all of time and eternity is available to us in Christ Jesus.

Paul had an exceptionally powerful revelation from God about a born again believer’s position “in” Christ Jesus. In the New Testament, primarily in the writings of Paul, the terms “in Christ”, “in Him”, and “in Whom” are used over 130 times.

All the passages in which Paul uses these terms are important for us because Paul is encouraging us to see ourselves as a totally new creation in Christ Jesus, and he uses these terms to teach us something more about how God sees us once we are born again.

Jesus Himself is the wisdom of God, and in Him we are wise. Jesus Himself is the righteousness of God, and in Him we are righteous. Jesus is Holy, and in Him we are progressively made more holy by the Holy Spirit. Our redemption from sin is only through the Blood and Life of Jesus.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:

“Jesus is made unto me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Therefore, I confess I have the wisdom of God, and I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”
