Knowledge of the Lords’s Will
Colossians 1:9-10
“…We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way…”
I imagine each of us reading this would say we want to have the knowledge of the Lord’s will for our lives. Am I right?
Notice in this scripture that this knowledge is available “through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives”. The Holy Spirit of God is the One who gives us wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We must continually be in fellowship, and communicating with, the Holy Spirit (see 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Something I do often in my prayers is to ask God for the following through His Holy Spirit in me: wisdom, knowledge, understanding, truth, discernment, revelation and application to my life. I also ask Him for more boldness and courage so I can serve Him better.
I believe all these are crucially important for me to seek and receive daily so that I “may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way”.
We should bathe our mind in the Word daily. Romans 12:2 says that we are transformed by the renewing of our mind so that we can know what the Lord’s will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will. Let’s seek His will today. Do it.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:
“I am filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I want to live a life worthy of the Lord Jesus and please Him in every way.”
