You Have Been Healed

 In Daily Devotional

1 Peter 2:24

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds you have been healed.’”

Psalm 107:20

“He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.”

In the Great Exchange of the Cross, one of the many blessings that Jesus Christ provided was healing for us who believe, through His stripes and wounds.

In our verse today, Peter is referring to what we know now as Isaiah 53, where 700 years before Jesus’ sacrificial death, Isaiah prophesies with pin-point accuracy the “Suffering Servant”, our Messiah, Jesus. He enumerates there what Jesus would accomplish on our behalf at the Cross and Resurrection (see Isaiah 53:1-12).

Even earlier, in the Psalms, it was prophesied that God “sent out his word and healed them”, and we know Jesus was the Living Word. Psalm 103:3, says God “heals all our diseases”.

The enemy knows these truths but attacks believers anyway with illnesses, diseases and other afflictions. Most Christians either do not know these truths, or will not, in faith, proclaim them over their lives at the first signs of attack.

I have personally seen God’s miraculous response to prayers for healing in many instances. Is it every instance? No, and I do not know why. But I trust His Word and I proclaim it over myself and others, in faith, believing!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:

“God sent His Word and healed me; He has rescued me from the grave. By the wounds and stripes of Jesus I have been healed. Praise the Lord, oh my soul, God heals all my diseases.”
