We Need the Holy Spirit

 In Daily Devotional

Acts 9:17

“Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.’”

Not only did “Saul” receive power with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, he had his name changed to “Paul”!

Paul depended upon the power of the Holy Spirit for his life and ministry. See, for example, Romans 15:17-19; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Ephesians 3:16-21; and, Colossians 1:29. In fact, Paul warned Timothy to stay away from religious people in the last days who deny the power of God, the Holy Spirit (see 2 Timothy 3:1-7).

Jesus needed the power of the Holy Spirit too! See Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 4:1; Luke 4:1; Luke 4:14; Luke 4:18-19; and, Acts 10:38.

If Jesus, Paul and the other Apostles needed the Holy Spirit, surely we too must have all of God, the Holy Spirit, that He will give us! HE is the “game-changer” for our walk in the Christian life.
