The Spirit Decides

 In Daily Devotional

1 Corinthians 12:11

“All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”

Acts 16:7

“When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.”

God, the Holy Spirit, makes decisions that help us, and guide us in His way for our lives. He chooses paths we may not be able to see, or are not wise enough to choose. It becomes increasingly important for us to wait, listen and come into agreement with His Will for our lives.

The Spirit has many gifts He will manifest in and through us at the right time, the right place, and with the right people. But, He decides when, where and how. As we learn to hear His still, small voice, we are able to partner with Him in His work.

In Acts 16:6-10, apparently Paul and his companions had a plan to minister the Gospel in Asia, but were prompted not to go by the Holy Spirit. Then, they came to the border of another region, and were not allowed to enter, again by the Spirit. Finally, the Spirit used a vision with Paul to direct him to go instead to Macedonia.

Are you seeking God’s guidance daily? If so, are you quick to obey?

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
