Shine Like a Star
“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”
“My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”
God calls all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30), and we know He is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). No man can come to Christ unless the Spirit draws him (John 6:44). However, God gives us the opportunity to be involved with Him in the salvation of souls. I am sure He could do it all on His own, but I imagine He takes great pleasure in rewarding His children!
In 1 Corinthians 3:8, Paul says, “The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.” Often times, we may think we cannot help with someone’s salvation, but even the smallest efforts can be used by God as an act of planting or watering seed.
Some have the ministry gift of evangelism, but I would suggest most of the preparatory work to make a heart ready is really accomplished by others. Anyone can pray for the lost, leave a tract in a strategic place, give someone a Bible, or encourage someone with a verse of scripture.
God will reward you for helping in any way to bring someone to Him. Get involved.
Ask the Father to help you stay alert for ways to encourage others to come to Christ.
