Receive the Gift
Acts 1:4-5
Jesus said, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
We thank the Father for His gifts. He not only gave us His Son, Jesus, but He gave us His Holy Spirit. What a marvelous Father He is.
When I think about it, I realize how gullible we are to believe the enemy’s lie — the lie that the Holy Spirit is not for today, that we don’t need Him. If anything, the truth is we need Him even more because we are living in the last of the last days when Scripture tells us that many will be deceived.
The Holy Spirit can help us not to be deceived if we will let Him lead us, and recognize that we “host” Him as the very Presence of God in us. We need Him. We need Him in His fullness.
Have you asked the Father for Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Luke 3:16)? If you ask the Father, He will give Him to you (Luke 11:13). Have you allowed the “rivers of living water” to flow from within you (John 7:38-39)?
Our Father desires for us to walk in all His fullness by His Holy Spirit.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Tell your Heavenly Father you are grateful for the Gift He and Jesus gave you – their Holy Spirit.
