Jesus is Always the Same
Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
In this world of constant change, consternation and confusion seem the order of the day. Yet, great comfort is gained when we consider the profound truth that Jesus will never change.
As I consider this, I am thankful Jesus will always love sinners but will never condone sin. He was not afraid to be with sinful, disobedient and rebellious people, but a true encounter with Him left them changed and willing to obey Him when He said, “Go, and sin no more.”
Since He is the Truth, I find confidence knowing that truth does not change. It does not evolve. It is not relative to what is happening in society. It is fixed and constant because He is.
Knowing His work is forever finished, complete and perfect allows me to place all my Faith in Him. No-one has ever done what He did, nor will they ever. Nothing needs to be added, and it cannot be changed. It is forever sufficient for my salvation.
My faith, loyalty and allegiance to Jesus will never be misplaced because He is forever in His Place, high above all else with everything under His feet. Realizing I am seated with Him in Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), I am thankful I am forever the undeserving recipient of His mercy, love, kindness and grace.
