Jesus Came to Save Sinners

 In Daily Devotional

1 Timothy 1:15-16

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”

One of my problems was how much I knew of my deceitful heart of stone before I came to Christ Jesus! Because I knew how very depraved and sinful I had been, it was hard to understand how He could forgive me and accept me into His family. Surely, I was one of the worst sinners.

Yet, knowing how much a sinner I was actually turned into a benefit in the sense that, even today, it makes me so very grateful for His forgiveness. What once was a hard heart has been replaced by a soft, compliant one. His Word tells us that those who have been forgiven much, love much! See Luke 7:36-50.

Have you ever really stopped to consider how much you have been forgiven? I know it is sometimes hard to believe “the Good News” when it comes to your own sinfulness, but Jesus really did die to forgive every single one of your sins!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell your Heavenly Father you how very thankful you are for Jesus paying the price for ALL of your sins. Ask Him to give you the courage to tell someone else how grateful you are for your salvation.
