Cleansing Our Conscience

Hebrews 9:14

“How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”

Because of the sacrificial death, resurrected life, and Blood of Jesus, we are cleansed of our past, and have been given the Holy Spirit so that we may serve our Father with a clear conscience.

That is almost an unbelievable truth for me because I remember how very depraved, perverted and sinful my life was before Jesus found me, and saved me, in prison in 2009. Yet, I testify that He has cleansed my conscience; and, when the devil reminds me of my past, I remind him of his future.

The Holy Spirit progressively sanctifies us after we truly repent and surrender to God. He teaches us the truth of the cleansing of our conscience by the Blood, and the power available to us to serve God with all our being. Through sanctification, we are set apart and made progressively more holy.

The Spirit reveals the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus offered to us because of His unblemished sacrifice. In Him alone are we counted as righteous, so we may approach the Father with confidence! See Hebrews 4:16.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father how grateful you are for the cleansing Blood of Jesus to enable you to live with a clear conscience. Promise Him you will repent quickly whenever you are convicted by His Spirit anytime you begin to stray from His narrow path. Thank Him for the new life you have been given in Christ!
