Christ Lives In Me

 In Daily Devotional

Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Read this verse again slowly, and really think about what it says. At first it seems contradictory and nonsensical. Yet, there is marvelous truth that can be experienced more daily in our lives if we will begin to think this way.

Paul tells us elsewhere that we should consider our “old man” to be dead (Romans 6:11), and that we are “new creations” in Christ Jesus. We are to remember that old things have passed away, and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We are to consider ourselves as having been crucified with Christ, and that we too were raised from the dead with Him in a new life. The Spirit of Christ now lives in us, the Holy Spirit. He wants to live His Life through us. The One Who loved us so much He gave Himself for us wants to express His new life in and through us!

If we live in daily surrender and submission to His Spirit in us, and we are dedicated to obedience to His promptings, we are really living and walking by faith.

This scripture is a marvelous truth worth memorizing and confessing daily!
