Powerful Divine Weapons

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

As Christians, we become aware of a spiritual war raging constantly around us in a dimension we cannot normally discern with our five senses. For example, see 2 Kings 6:15-17.

The weapons we use are not the worldly weapons we naturally think about when it comes to war; rather, they are powerful divine weapons. In Ephesians 6:10-18, Paul tells us about our enemy, the armor we use to protect us from his attacks, and our arsenal of weapons.

Notice that the armor is defensive, but there are two offensive weapons: wielding the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; and, praying in the Spirit.

In the 2 Kings scripture, Elisha prayed to open the eyes of his servant, and he prayed to blind the eyes of his enemies. The most powerful prayers are those that use the Word of God; and, when we don’t know how to pray, we can let the Spirit pray though us because He prays the perfect will of God the Father! See Romans 8:26-28.

Strongholds are fortified places, or fortresses, and in some cases, the Greek word is translated as “prisons”. We cannot let the enemy imprison us and establish fortresses in our souls. You are able to demolish strongholds!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Thank the Father for ultimate victory in the war over the enemy by Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you remember today that you are not fighting “for” victory, but “from” victory.

Use your weapons.
