Faith Comes

 In Daily Devotional

Romans 10:16-17

“But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’ 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”

Have you “accepted the Good News”? Have you “believed our message”?

We have all been given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3), which I believe is at least enough to believe and accept the Good News of Jesus Christ! But most of us would like to have more faith. Is that you? Have you ever said to yourself, “If I just had more faith…”?

Be encouraged: faith comes. Faith can be increased!

We are not left with only the beginning measure of faith we were given in order that we could come to Christ. No, faith comes. It grows.

How? By the Word. Jesus is the Living Word, and He continues to speak to us through His written Word; and, by the Holy Spirit Who brings to our remembrance everything Jesus has told us. God’s Word does not return without effect, and it is able to accomplish all God intends (Isaiah 55:11).

Memorizing and meditating upon scripture puts the Word inside us. Then, the Holy Spirit is able to bring it to our remembrance when we need to use it as a weapon (see July 19)! Speak the Word out loud to your mountain.

When we hear ourselves proclaim the Word of God over our situation and circumstances, we see the Word work. When we see the results, our faith increases!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father you want more faith. Thank Him for the faith to believe. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you memorize, and meditate upon, the Word He inspired. Rehearse it aloud often.
