The New is Here
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Great news! We have been grafted into Christ, and our old man is dead! May I suggest you review the devotionals for June 25 and July 17?
This is absolutely one of my favorite verses. If you haven’t yet done so, I urge you to memorize it and rehearse it to yourself daily. This is Truth, and applying it will set you free in Christ!
One of the most remarkable things about coming to Christ was that I really could start over. I did not have to keep bemoaning all the many mistakes I had made. I no longer had to buried in shame, guilt, remorse and embarrassment about my past. I could begin again because I was born again!
“The old has gone, the new is here!”
When I am led by the Spirit, I am “in Christ”. When I give in to old man, fleshly temptations I am not then operating in Christ. I do not have to give into them since my old man is dead, but I need to consciously declare this aloud when temptation comes. I want to hear myself proclaim this because faith comes by hearing; and, when I do, I am submitting to God, and resisting the devil! See January 20.
All the promises of God are available to me in Christ. My new man lives daily in Him.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Tell the Father you are thankful to have the opportunity to start over in Christ Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you memorize today’s verse, and live it out today.
