The Word is Powerful

 In Daily Devotional

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Yesterday, I encouraged you to use the Daily Confessions and Personalized Prayers in the back of this book as part of your daily time with the Father. The Word is so very powerful! It is crucial to confess it, meditate upon it, pray it back to God, and apply it to our daily lives.

We must know what God says about us so that we can recognize and reject the lies of the enemy, taking captive every thought to the obedience of Christ. I challenge you to confess and pray these daily for an extended period. After six months, continue to recite them at least weekly thereafter. I promise you they will change the way you speak, think, pray and act.

The Word is not just a collection of words from God, it is alive, and has within it the ability to create good for our future out of the bad ruins of our past. It shines Light into the darkness that once inhabited our souls. The Word helps us love God, others and ourselves from our heart, the deepest core of being.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father how much you love and appreciate His Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you make wise decisions using His Word. Tell Him you want the Word to shape your life from the deepest level of your soul.

Receive the Word. Use it today.
