The Perfect Teacher

John 14:26

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Psalm 32:8

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

Even our favorite teachers made mistakes. The Holy Spirit never does. Those same teachers specialized in one or two subjects. The Holy Spirit perfectly knows everything!

Jesus wanted His disciples to know with certainty they would not be left alone to carry out the Great Commission. He assured them that He and the Father knew they needed a Helper, Teacher and Counselor to teach them daily how to apply the truths Jesus had given them, and to remind them of everything He had taught them. He wanted them to have continuous counsel for clear direction, and the Power of God for Kingdom success.

It was so important for them, they were instructed not to go anywhere or do anything until they had received power from on high and the gift the Father had promised – The Holy Spirit.

Likewise, we need direction, instruction and counsel to achieve the plans the Father and Son have for us. As we continue to read and absorb the Word, we need our Helper to remind us of key verses at critical times when the enemy tempts us. Aren’t you glad you have the Perfect Teacher?

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father how much you need His direction today. Thank Him for sending you His Holy Spirit, and tell Him you want to listen and obey your Teacher.
