Stand Firm for Freedom
Galatians 5:1
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
One of the biggest lies of the enemy is that there is total freedom in serving the devil because “anything goes”. In fact, “Do as thou wilt” is the Luciferian motto of secular humanists worldwide.
The truth takes a while to dawn on us, if it ever does, but “doing our own thing” results in bondages of every kind. We become enslaved to the very things we thought would help us live free. Eventually, we are imprisoned by lust, materialism, pride, selfishness, addictions, greed and many other things, as we pursue “freedom” to be who we want to be. Does this sound familiar to you?
I too was enslaved to sin, and experienced many different forms of bondage. What Good News it was when I learned that Jesus paid a price to purchase my freedom from sin so that, if I made the choice to be free from the power of sin, I could turn and follow Him. Instead of being an unwilling slave to sin, I could choose to be a voluntary servant of righteousness.
I am learning to re-submit and re-commit daily to the Lordship of Jesus, and the Leadership of the Holy Spirit, so that I will not “let myself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Are you determined to stay free?
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Tell the Father how much you appreciate freedom in Christ Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to point out any remaining bondages, and choose to turn from them and live free today.
Stand firm for freedom.
