Exchanging Truth for a Lie

Romans 1:24-25

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.”

Each of us has been given free will to make our own decisions. God does not force Himself upon His created ones.

But a seed of rebellion was planted in each of us from our ancestors in the Garden, so pretty much all of us try to do life our own way instead of God’s way. So often, we succumb to the ever increasing temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil; and, a little is never enough. Can you relate?

The truth is God wants what is best for us, and He patiently waits for us to return to Him. But, similar to the serpent’s implication to Eve that God was withholding something good from her, we fall into the trap of believing the lie of the enemy that what the world offers us in material things and sexual enticement is better.

Having once traveled very far down that same road, I can now attest to the truth that God is Supremely Good, and He has much better things awaiting us when we repent and return to Him with all of our heart.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Talk to the Father about your desire to have the best He has for you through your faith in Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you today in the path of God’s perfect will for your life.
