Seek His Face Always

1 Chronicles 16:8-11

“Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 9 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. 10 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. 11 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.”

After King David prepared a tent to house it, the Ark of God was finally moved to Jerusalem! What a wonderful celebration they had, and David presented gifts to each Israelite man and woman. “He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to extol, thank, and praise the LORD, the God of Israel.” (verse 4).

David was the first to commit a song of thanks to Asaph and the singers that day. Our passage today is the first part of a wonderful Psalm of thanksgiving and praise that extends through most of Chapter 16. You will be blessed to read and meditate on the entire Psalm.

There is such power, peace and joy in taking time personally to genuinely thank God for all He has done, is doing, and will do in our lives! We should lift up the Name above all names in praise. We ought to celebrate all the ways God is real to us as Provider, Healer, Comforter, Protector, Lifter of our heads, Savior and Deliverer!

We must look to the Lord each day as our strength. All things are possible with God. In every situation of life let us seek His face always.
