Repent
Matthew 3:3
“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!’”
True repentance must happen to see or enter the Kingdom of God.
The Bible says to “repent and believe the gospel”, “repent and be saved”, “repent and be baptized”, and, “unless you repent you will likewise perish”.
Repentance is a 180-degree turn away from sin and towards God. It is like making a u-turn on a highway. To repent is to change your mind to agree with God about sin, and make a heart-felt decision to change.
There must be a day that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and make a determined choice to follow hard after God rather than continuing on the same old path where the enemy waits to steal, kill and destroy your life. In one direction is death and darkness. In the other direction lies Life and Light.
When true repentance has taken place you will see positive changes in the way you think, talk and act. Others will see and hear something different from you. Repentance is about change.
If you have not truly repented, you are not saved.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Ask yourself if you have ever truly repented. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of the truth about this in your life. Tell the Father you are ready to abandon your past and your previous path.
Make a u-turn.
