Reasons to Surrender
Job 10:8-9
“Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether. Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust?”
As a former inmate, I can relate to the term “surrender”. Back then, I remember surrendering before being taken into custody for incarceration. I was forced to comply with their commands, and follow their lead. I was a captive. Do you remember?
However, now that we have accepted what the Father has provided for us in salvation, we surrender completely to the Lordship of Jesus, and to the Potter’s hands for our benefit – in fact, for our freedom rather than our captivity or incarceration. As a new creation in Christ, we willingly comply with His commands. We desire to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
God has every right to demand that we give Him our all. He made us. We are under His authority whether we choose to submit to it or not. It is in our best interest to willingly surrender. He saved us. He has a vision of a perfectly completed vessel ready for His use, and we are better off when we allow Him to make of us what He wants.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Someone once said, “Ask God, Who gave Himself completely to you, to help you give yourself completely to Him.” Simply say, “Yes, Lord” when He speaks to you through His Holy Spirit.
Surrender fully to God. You will be glad you did.
