Out of the Slimy Pit

 In Daily Devotional

Psalm 40:1-3

“I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.”

When we finally admit to ourselves that we are at our lowest point, and we are trapped with no way out, it is there and then that our genuine cry for help from God will be heard.

Until a person realizes they are drowning they don’t cry out for help. A person has to know they are lost before they desire to be found.

It doesn’t matter how far you have fallen, or how hopelessly mired down you are in sin and circumstances, God is able to reach down and lift you out.

He doesn’t just pull you out and abandon you, He cleans you up by His Holy Spirit. He sets your feet firmly on the Rock, Who is Christ, where you are able to stand firmly on the Word! You are restored to His original plan for your life.

In your gratitude, you will give Him praise through your testimony to others, so that many will see Him, reverently admire His awesomeness, and put their trust in Him!

Join me in proclaiming, “God is Good!”

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
