Loves Comes from God

1 John 4:7

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”

Our Father God loved us so much that He sacrificed His only Son to save us from our sin and open the door for us to return to an intimate personal relationship with Him – the same closeness Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden. He did this even while we were all still hopelessly lost in sin.

As a recent song says, “Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God!” The more we believe and receive the eternal, immeasurable love of our Father, the more we will be able to love Him and love others. Love comes from God.

Jesus commanded us to love God, and love others as we love ourselves. In fact, He commanded His followers to love each other as He loved them. If we do this, He said the world would know we are His disciples.

Love is the first and primary fruit produced in our lives by the Holy Spirit. In fact, all the other fruit brought forth by the Spirit proceeds from love. We must yield to the Spirit and remain attached to the Vine, Jesus, so His Power will flow into us and through us to others. Love is the best gift. Love conquers all.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father you are overwhelmed by his never-ending, reckless love. Thank Him for his ultimate gift of love in His Son, Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to produce more love in you.
