Fully Committed to God

 In Daily Devotional

2 Chronicles 16:9

“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

Jesus made it pretty clear how He felt about lukewarm Christians in that He would vomit them out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). God the Father said, “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” (Isaiah 29:13). These are people who are not fully committed to God.

On the other hand, Pastor Mark Batterson exhorts Christians to go “all in, and all out, for the All in All.” (Going All In). This is a person who is fully committed to God; and, is the one about whom the scripture passage describes as being strengthened by God.

God promises to bless, strengthen and protect all those who seriously seek Him, and desire to serve Him. Psalm 5:12 says, “Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”

When we set our hearts firmly on God, and follow hard after Him daily, it is very encouraging to think about God having His eyes on us to strengthen us in our journey! Why would we ever look outside of Him for any encouragement, fulfillment, or reinforcement?

Let me encourage you to go “all in” with Jesus. Don’t be concerned about pleasing men during this temporary stay on Earth; rather, make a decision to serve God wholeheartedly, and unreservedly, for all of your remaining days. You will never regret it.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
