Don’t Be Alarmed
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed… 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way…”
Although the times we are living in are perilous, troubling and seem to be growing darker by the day, we are exhorted “not to become easily unsettled or alarmed”. These are exciting days for the Body of Christ who long for the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Here Paul warns again of possible deception, and Jesus Himself emphasized it as we learned on July 24, and more particularly on February 11. Jesus told us that if it were possible, even “the elect” would be deceived (Matthew 24:24). Praise God, it is not possible for the very elect to be deceived, and we want to be sure we are part of “the elect”, or the remnant of true believers!
As we see Biblical prophecy being fulfilled right before our very eyes every week, it should encourage us to be about our Father’s business. We should be praying for our family members and friends who do not have an intimate personal relationship with Jesus. Be bold about sharing your testimony of what God has done in your life.
I believe God wants us to focus one day at a time on the plan He gives us each morning. Whatever He wants you to do today, do it with a sense of urgency and a pattern of excellence. Tomorrow, receive your instructions from Him again.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Ask the Father what He has in mind for you today that would positively impact the Kingdom.
