Capture Wrong Thoughts

2 Corinthians 10:5

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

In prison, there are plenty of arguments, false teachings, unrighteousness and spiritual strongholds that are diametrically opposed to the principles and truth of Jesus Christ. How do we demolish them? How do we overcome?

The only weapons capable are not the normal worldly ones we are familiar with; rather, we have the authority of the Name of Jesus, the power of His Blood, the word of our own testimony, and the powerful spiritual gifts exercised by the Holy Spirit in us.

Weapons are useless unless they are used. In our warfare, God is our Commander in Chief, and even our thoughts should be submitted to His leadership. We must quickly arrest any thoughts that try to overpower us, and immediately yield them up to Christ.

When we are exposed to ideas or opportunities that might lead to wrong desires or actions, we are faced with a choice. Will we go along with the world and its way of doing things; or, will we choose to exercise our Kingdom authority?

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Admit to God our Father any inappropriate thoughts, fantasies or desires that are not consistent with a life in Christ. Tell Him you want to make better choices today, and ask Him to help you by His Holy Spirit.

Be determined to reject any unwholesome thoughts. Capture them and submit them quickly to the Light of Christ.
