Bible Boot Camp

2 Timothy 2:15

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

After I got saved in prison, I looked at the remainder of my time as a Bible Boot Camp, or even Bible College.

I tried to focus as much as possible on studying the Word, memorizing scripture verses, and attending every sort of Chaplaincy class and almost every Christian worship service available to me. I completed many Correspondence Bible Study courses, and for one of them I earned a Study Bible for satisfactorily completing the course. What a wealth of information it contained in its verse commentaries, articles, concordance, subject index and maps!

While you are still incarcerated, for however brief or lengthy a time that may be, make a decision now to use your time wisely. Further your education. Study the Word and learn how to apply it to your daily life. Seek the Father diligently with all your heart.

Cultivate an intimate, personal relationship with the Father through His Holy Spirit living in you. Choose to be led by the Spirit moment by moment, instead of being constantly influenced by fleshly desires, the world, or the devil and his demonic hosts.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Tell the Father you want to know more about Him and His Living Word, Jesus. Ask Him by His Spirit to show you ways to invest your time and talents learning the Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to apply what He teaches you.
