Be Transformed

 In Daily Devotional

Romans 12:2

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

I am so thankful God impressed upon me to use those last 20 months of confinement as a time to grow spiritually in His Word and, thereby, to be “transformed by the renewing” of my mind (Romans 12:1-2). I quit letting my “time do me” and started “doing my time”.

I quit watching TV and playing cards. Instead, the Spirit motivated me to spend that time in spiritual education and Christian life training programs sponsored by the Chaplain. Additionally, many Bible correspondence courses, frequent Chapel service attendance and intense personal Bible Study hours prepared a solid foundation for me and sowed seed in fertile ground.

I am now a living witness of the Father’s grace, mercy, forgiveness and power in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit has never been more real to me. The differences in me are real and permanent. God has changed me from the inside out. My attitudes, thoughts, desires and speech have all drastically changed. I am truly a “new creature in Christ – old things are passed away, everything has been made new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Ask the Father to reveal by His Holy Spirit the areas of your life where you are still conformed to the world. Be sensitive to the Spirit’s leading as to how He wants you to participate with Him in renewing your mind.

Do not conform. Be transformed.
