The Spirit Prays God’s Will
Romans 8:27, AMP
“And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will.”
Notice that today’s verse starts with the word “And”, so it is associated with the previous verse and is a continuing thought. Consequently, I suggest you re-read Romans 8:26 and yesterday’s devotional.
Our Father searches our hearts. He knows us completely, and so does His Holy Spirit Who lives inside every believer. Because He is the Spirit of the Father, and the Spirit of the Son, our intercessor, the Holy Spirit, knows the perfect will of God for us and prays on our behalf accordingly.
Our spiritual desires and yearnings find their source in the Holy Spirit Who dwells within us. The Holy Spirit joins with us to help and empower us to be victors instead of victims in our circumstances. But He also acts in addition to or apart from us to intercede and intervene for us by appealing to the Father on our behalf of our needs in accordance with God’s will. When we are helpless, the Holy Spirit is truly our Helper.1
What a tremendous benefit it is to us for us to pray in the spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to pray God’s perfect will and plan for our lives. The Spirit knows the Plan!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Thank our Heavenly Father for His Holy Spirit in you. Tell Him you trust His perfect will and plan for your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray for its complete manifestation daily.
