The Holy Spirit Speaks
Acts 13:2
“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’”
Isaiah 30:21
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
John 15:26
Jesus said, “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me…”
I have never heard the audible voice of God the Father, or God the Son. But, I very definitely daily hear the voice of God, the Holy Spirit! Yes, as the verses above prove, the Holy Spirit speaks to us. Are you listening?
This “still, small voice” of the Spirit comes to me in my thoughts from deep inside my heart or human spirit. There He, the Spirit of the Father and the Son, dwells in me, always ready and willing to lead me, instruct me, and point me to Jesus.
It is the noise and distractions of “the world” that compete for our attention. Sin, self and Satan do their best to drown out the precious voice of the Spirit. He is a “gentleman”, and as such, does not impose Himself upon our free will. That is why it is so very important that we constantly choose to seek His voice and receive His instructions obediently.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Be still. Be very quiet within. Listen. Listen. Listen. He will sow His seeds of love and instruction in your heart. You must constantly prepare the ground. Soak in His Presence.
