Renew Your Mind
Romans 12:2
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Before going to prison, much of my life was centered around desiring to be accepted in and by “the world”. I wanted to “fit in”. I was convinced I had to “go along to get along.”
I never felt God had any plan for my life, although I remember many times wishing that I knew what He wanted, and why I was here on this earth. I had a strong internal desire to “make a difference” in this world, but I did not know how.
As I began to study the Word, I realized “the world” has plenty of ways to distract us from God’s mission for our lives. For the most part, the ways of life in “the world” are opposed to the ways of abundant, eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
As we allow God’s Love and His Word to renew our minds; our way of thinking, talking and living will position us to know and receive God’s Will – His perfect, pleasing and acceptable plan for our lives.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Ask the Father what His perfect Will is for you today. Start by telling Him you want to live less in “the world” and more in His Kingdom. It really is a choice you make minute by minute.
Stop conforming. Be transformed.
