Praise the Lord

 In Daily Devotional

Psalm 34:1

“I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”

Colossians 3:16

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

As believers, the love, peace and joy produced inside us by the Holy Spirit should naturally bubble up from deep within us in praises to our God. Our heart should always be in a continual state of thankfulness for all our many blessings.

Think about all the many ways God has blessed you and your family. How do you feel about being delivered from the bondages that once enslaved you?

Even if a person doesn’t think they can sing well, the Bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. I may not sing on key but I am loud and can make a joyful noise to glorify God. Are you like me? Although we may be embarrassed to sing loudly in public, we can praise God in any number of ways in a less public setting.

After all, we should not be concerned about criticism from others. I am certain that even our weakest attempts to express gratitude and praise warm the Heart of God! Can you imagine how He feels when we are enthusiastic and exuberant? Don’t be shy, praise the Lord!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:

“I am blessing the Lord at all times and continually praising the Lord with my mouth. With psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit I will sing to God with gratitude in my heart!”
