Make the Most of Opportunity

 In Daily Devotional

Ephesians 5:15-17

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

In these very challenging last days, it is clear that the Lord’s will is for more souls to be saved. Time is short, and certainly the days are growing progressively more evil and darker very quickly.

It is especially imperative now for true believers to be careful to “walk their talk”. As we do, unbelievers will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to the Father, in part, by their attraction to the fruit they see being produced in our lives.

I believe it may have been St. Francis of Assisi who said, “We should preach the Gospel at all times and, if necessary, use words.” So, be very careful how you live.

We must also look for opportunities to share our testimony of what the blood of Jesus has done in our lives. We should pray for more boldness and courage because there are, in fact, many opportunities for us to conversationally share with others the hope we have found in Christ.

Daniel 12:3 says that those who are wise will lead many to righteousness and will shine like the stars forever and ever! Surely, then, this is the Lord’s will.

In these dark days, let Isaiah 60:1 encourage you to, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Thank the Father for allowing you to be a light to the world around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you make the most of every opportunity today to share the Gospel.
