Last Day’s Outpouring

 In Daily Devotional

Joel 2:28-29

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

In the context of the entire second chapter of Joel, it is clear the Lord Himself is prophesying of “the day of the Lord” (Joel 2:1-2), after His people, Israel, are regathered in the land. I encourage you to stop and read the entire chapter.

Peter, on the day of Pentecost, referred to this passage in explaining what had happened, so he believed they were then “in those days” because of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

So many prophetic scriptures have already been fulfilled concerning the last days. In fact, Dr. David Jeremiah says that all the prophecies that must be fulfilled before the second coming of Christ have, in fact, already been fulfilled. He could come any day.

In view of this, the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit that the Father wants to pour out on His sons and daughters becomes ever more important with each passing day. Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

Brothers and sisters in Christ, in these last days, we must have all of the Holy Spirit, and make a decision daily to be led by the Spirit.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Ask the Father to pour out more of Himself through His Holy Spirit so that you are overflowing for the benefit of others today wherever you go and whatever you do.
