Be Strong in the Lord
Ephesians 6:10
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”
Philippians 4:13
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
In these exciting days, more than ever, we will be called on to “be strong in the Lord”; and we must know that “His mighty power” resides in us by His Holy Spirit. When prophesying about the last days, the prophet Daniel wrote, “…the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Daniel 11:32, NKJV)
God wants us to be certain that He will empower us and give us strength from within so that we can do all things He asks us to do. He does not expect us to operate out of our own strength.
Many people exercise their bodies regularly to build up their muscles and tone their body so that they become stronger physically. I noticed this is especially true in prison. This builds their self-confidence for the occasion when they need to carry out an arduous task, or defend themselves.
Similarly, when we exercise our spirit and soul by spending regular time in the Word and in the Presence of God, we will build God-confidence for the times when we are performing Kingdom work, or defending ourselves in spiritual warfare from the attacks of the enemy. God will never give us a task we can’t handle, and the enemy is already a defeated foe by Christ Jesus!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:
“I am strong in the Lord and in His might power by the Holy Spirit. I am doing all things through Christ Who strengthen me.”
