All You Need

Philippians 4:19

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 9:8

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

It is interesting to note that the context of the Philippians passage leading up to verse 19 has to do with Paul thanking, and further exhorting, believers for their gifts supporting his Gospel ministry (Philippians 4:15-19). So, in some sense, God’s provision of our personal needs is directly related to our personal giving.

Many correctly point out that Philippians 4:19 applies to our true “needs” not necessarily our desires. Yet, Psalm 37:4 says as we delight in the Lord He will give us the desires of our heart. I believe this means as we sincerely seek intimacy of relationship with God, He puts appropriate, Godly desires in our hearts, and then sets about to fulfill them!

We can trust our Father to know exactly what we need at all times in every situation. He will not withhold anything from us that we need to fulfill His will and plan for our life. His grace, love and generosity is abundant to reward those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Let’s choose to trust God daily for even the smallest of our needs, and continuously express our gratitude!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Put the Word of God deep into your heart. Confess this aloud, and repeat it often today:

“I am getting all my needs met by Jesus. I am blessed abundantly at all times. For all things, I have all I need, so that I am supplied for every good work God has planned for me.”
