God Made Us Alive
Ephesians 2:4-6
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus…”
Yesterday we learned we were dead men walking. We deserved God’s judgment and wrath. But because of God’s great love for us, in Christ Jesus He showed us mercy and compassion instead!
It is by, through, and because of God’s magnificent grace that we were made alive with Christ even while we were still dead in our trespasses and sins. In truth, God did not have an obligation to save us, but loved us so very much that He opened the way for us to find and experience true life. This life in in His Son who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life”.
God snatched us from the jaws of death when we finally cried out to Him in brokenness and true repentance. He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into His Kingdom of Light. In Christ, we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. See Colossians 1:13-14.
Even though we are physically still in this world, we are to accept the truth of our current spiritual position as our Father God having already seated us with Christ in Heavenly realms. Though we live “in” this world, we are no longer “of” this world! That’s Good News!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE:
Tell the Father how thankful you are for His unconditional love, mercy and forgiveness. Thank Jesus for receiving you into His Kingdom of Light after having rescued you from darkness!
